Thank you, Holly Huckeba for this FAQ content.
Why do your emails say ConstantContact on them? Is this a scam or spam?
Constant Contact is a legitimate service provider to SCBWI-Minnesota. We have licensed a permission-based e-marketing software platform from them to help us manage our contact database and design and send informational emails.
What do you do with my information?
We will only ever use your information to provide you with information about our organization’s activities. We will never sell your information to anyone else or share it outside of our organization.
How can I keep your messages from going to my spam or junk mail folder?
Please add us to your safe list and/or contacts, and mark the email as not SPAM, to make sure you’ll receive future emails from us. Click “Add us to your address book” at the bottom to make sure you don’t miss future emails.
I want to change my email address, what do I do?
Simply click on the “Update Profile” link at the end of any email you receive from SCBWI-Western Washington and make the desired change. Please note, however, that if you are a member of SCBWI.org, we will always contact you at the email specified on your SCBWI.org profile. If you want to change which email we use, you will need to update your profile accordingly at https://www.scbwi.org. If you are getting more than one email from us, please make sure your SCBWI.org profile is up to date and then unsubscribe from the emails sent to the addresses you wish to remove from our database.
How do I update my profile to make sure I’m getting what I want to see? How do I control what you will email me about? How do I communicate my interests to you?
Simply click on the “Update Profile” link at the end of any email you receive from SCBWI-Minnesota and make the desired changes.
How did you get my email address when I’ve never been to one of your events?
We uploaded lists of our contacts into our Constant Contact account from our old contact database and event registration platform (Cvent) and from SCBWI.org. In addition, your contact info may have been added from online sign-up forms on our web page and blog or physical sign-in forms at our meetings, events, or other public appearances.
How can I opt-out of future emails from SCBWI-Minnesota?
Any emails you receive from us will include an easy, automated way for you to remove your email address from our database or change your expressed interests. If you wish to do this, simply follow the “unsubscribe,” “SafeUnsubscribe®” and/or “Update Profile” links at the end of any email you receive from SCBWI-Minnesota.
Why don’t you have a phone number listed for me to call you for help?
We are a 100% volunteer-run organization, and we are unable to provide a central contact person available for answering phones. If you still have questions that haven’t been answered in this FAQ, please email email@example.com.
